  • Founding Fathers

With the last Jacobite Uprising in 1745, the British Crown had its fill of Scottish Rebellion and went about dismantling the entire Highlander way of life. Scotland’s clans, nobility, and ruling class were effectively eliminated, and the tenants of the various clan lands were left to fend for themselves for many decades until Parliament was able to effectively establish governance over Scotland. This left the country to be made up almost entirely of skilled laborers and blue-collar workers.
Lucian “Sterling” MacLeod & Lewis Sinclaire were born in the city of Glasgow, Scotland to parents Thomas and Mary MacLeod in the early 1940s, Lucian being the eldest of the two sons. Thomas, a war veteran, and Mary, a factory worker, raised their two sons in the industrious blue-collar locale of Glasgow through the ’40s and ’50s, where they would come to align themselves with the Bar-L team, a group of armed robbers led by the notorious Tom McGraw, that would later become the McGraw Firm. The MacLeod brothers got their start with Bar-L, and began their spree of organized crime in the early ’60s as both robbers, and contract killers.

  • Early Life of the Firm

With the proximal activity of the Real IRA just across the way from the MacLeod brothers in Scotland, the United Kingdom once again saw an influx in military technology in the criminal underworld that had not been seen since the Second World War. The MacLeod’s, with the help of a friend and partner Cailen Macintyre, was able to split from Tom McGraw’s organization and lay the foundation for the MacLeod Firm in the port city of Edinburgh, Scotland. From Edinburgh, the MacLeod Firm would run a chain of garages, electronics shops, and hardware shops across the UK, and it would be through the Port of Edinburgh where mixed among various mechanical parts, the Firm would receive numerous weapon components from across Europe to be assembled in-house and sold to other organizations of a similar nature. The Irish market offered the MacLeod’s sustainable income and supplying the enemies of the Firm’s enemies kept any volume of trouble at an arm’s length. The Firm kept itself to the weapons and private security markets in order to keep from infringing on the territory of the much larger Liverpudlian and London crime syndicates and their domination of synthetic drug trafficking.
Rory Campbell, a security detail, and Cailen Macintyre, a maverick in the legitimate business world, combined their specific expertise with the MacLeod Brothers’ experience in the criminal underworld in order to develop a powerhouse trafficking operation.

  • Principles

Throughout the 20th Century, Glasgow has been a hotbed of sectarian conflict where the Irish Catholics and other undesirable religions have been persistently persecuted by the predominantly Protestant Christian demographic. The MacLeod Firm is composed of men heralding from various Scottish Clans, however, the vast majority of them are Protestant, and will choose not to do business with individuals who represent themselves as Catholic if the luxury can be afforded. Along with the Catholics, the Scots of the MacLeod Firm also uphold a particular aversion to the Romani, or ‘Gypsies’, and other less-prominent European ethnicities.

The Men of the Firm are honorable, and rarely involve themselves in violent crimes. Acts such as rape, unprovoked assault, murder, or mugging are not tolerated by the upper reaches of the organization, as the Men are businessmen by nature and do not wish to stoop to the level of other such ruffians and scum. The binding principles of the Firm are Fealty, Truthfulness, and Mutual Correction. The Kinsmen of the Firm swear an oath of fealty to the current seat of the Clan upon becoming a Kinsman, binding themselves and their offspring to the clan as septs. Kinsmen under oath are expected to maintain honesty to the Firm and the Clan and are also responsible for the well-being and actions of each other.

  • Expansion

By the time 1970 rolled around, the MacLeod Brothers had more than established themselves in the UK and across mainland Europe. In order to expand a business without trespassing into rival territory, the Brothers set their eyes on America. Lucian Sterling, alongside Lewis Sinclare, Rory Campbell, Cailen Macintyre, and several other Scottish Countrymen and associates, departed for the crown jewel of the United States; New York City, where the Sterling branch of the Firm would begin to build the future of their empire in the arms trade. Robert Hudson would remain in Scotland and continue to run their business at home to ensure that his brother’s financial adventures could be healthily backed from abroad. The Firm would go on to legally search and acquire properties on the southside of NYC to potentially find a base of operations for the foreseeable future and provide the Firm with a stable foothold with which to expand their horizons and profit margins, as well as keep in line with the Firm’s MO.

  • Structure

The Firm’s internal network involves a tree-like rank system where ranks are linear, to begin with for fresh meat, and diversify into more tedious and specific roles towards the top for the veteran Kinsmen. The ranks are as follows:

RE: MacLeod Firm - Jackal - 04-17-2021

So this response could very easily be perceived as "bias" but I am going to go over, generally speaking, the type of things that the MacLeod firm was able to do on MP and even what we bring to the table.

We initially RP'd as the MacLeod's without an official whitelist faction by committing to our gun trade and our drug running trade as well. Even without a faction we were able to mesh and ingrain ourselves in the RP environment provided to us on that server. As a result, we believe we can very easily do this again maybe not instantaneously but similar to our previous run over a short amount of time. Also, this crime syndicate doesn't necessarily operate similar to other groups. As in other groups might retort to illegal means to solve every issue whereas a group like the MacLeod's would, ideally, solve their issues through legal matters or in some cases having others do the dirty work for them. I.E. if they want some sloppy crime family to get forcefully removed out of "X" property we might seek out the NYC Comptroller as opposed to PKing them.
Furthermore, the MacLeod Firm is willing to put effort into itself from the very beginning as seen in the initial application. Finally, this faction will maintain an image of maturity and relative seriousness that some other applicants, unfortunately, simply do not convey.

RE: MacLeod Firm - Turtle - 04-18-2021

Seems like it's been field tested with success. Sounds more interesting than my current crew, and looks flushed out.

RE: MacLeod Firm - Sydney - 04-19-2021

+1 seems like a good faction where a lot of hard work was put into it. I think they would be a great addition to the server.

RE: MacLeod Firm - Swigs - 04-19-2021

There's clearly a shit ton of effort that went into the making of this faction.

RE: MacLeod Firm - shrimps - 04-21-2021

I was the original creator and leader of this faction back on MP. Back then, in our first week, we amassed over 20 members and several properties in under a week from virtually nothing. Over the months since then, the people still in the faction today have remain constantly dedicated, and even going into this new environment, the ranks of the firm still remain strong.
