Organization Backstory (Min. of 250+ Words & any images):
Chaos and disorder plagued New York City in the mid 1960s. The NYPDs operational budget was at an all time low which led to rampant crime both organized and amateur. The emergence of street gangs hurt all of NYCs boroughs, but none so much as Brooklyn. Hundreds of gangs filled the streets and divided up the land, one of the larger being The Warriors. Their turf was Coney island, and they controlled it with an iron fist. From Seagate to Manhattan Beach, Deno’s Amusement Park to Ave Z, their rule was uncontested.
As time moved on, the city invested more money into crime fighting. The biggest gangs in the city were being erased off the map, and slowly Brooklyn turned from a daily nightmare to a safe community. Families who were harassed all day everyday by delinquent teens could now rest easy and move on, except for one…
Back in 1966, Jeremy “Ajax” Remar was arrested after being fooled by an undercover cop. He was sent to a local low security prison to be held, but that didn't last long. He was soon boosted out by The Gramercy Riffs and The Warriors, led by Swan, their warlord. Life soon turned to normal for Ajax and The Warriors; Swan led them into the late 60s, a time filled with fun and crime. Life was good for them until Swan stepped down as Warlord and left, leaving Ajax in charge. By this point most of the members like Cowboy, Snow and Rembrandt had grown up and had families and kids. Most wanted to seek some refuge from their past and find a safe place, including Ajax. He had a son James who he’d tell his stories of The Warriors and what it had been like only a decade ago, unknowingly leaving a lasting impression on his son.
By 1987 the crime in NYC had plummeted. The NYPD had gained back control and many street gangs were never heard from again, only remaining in the memories of past members. As James grew older, he longed for the life his dad lived. He wanted to leave his mark and bring The Warriors reputation back to what it once was. He romanticized the stories Ajax told him and so, unbeknownst to his father, James took his dads jacket and left home to start The Warriors over again. As an homage to his father, he took his nickname too: James “Ajax” Remar. Reviving them was his only mission in life and he was willing to do anything, even face up to a Brooklyn that had long moved on from street gang life. Here is where the story of the new Warriors begins, in Brooklyn 1987 with "Ajax" back as Warlord
