Organization Backstory:

Chapter I:
What in life is it that drives a man to be great? Money? Power? Respect? Wrong. Security is the only thing in life a strong man cares for. Security for his friends, family, community, but most importantly himself. This is the mentality that always swirled in the mind of Doug Walker, a young and somewhat naive street hustler growing up in Stanton Island. Perpetually driven to make ends meet no matter how hard the journey, Doug's soul bellowed with bottled-up rage and sorrow that only forced him to aspire for something greater, a world separated from the so-called sheep that plagued it. If he could ever escape the economic hell that he was trapped in, he would be sure that he and his associates would never have to spend another night lonely and full of contempt. Of course, this was easier said than done. Doug never fancied himself as a charismatic personality, but somehow individuals always managed to flock to him with bent ears. This is how Doug was able to graduate from dope dealing to backyard fight organizing in the manner of weeks. Where there was a good fight to be had, there was money to be made in Doug's eyes. An underground movement began in the wake of his amateur boxing shows and a peoples champion emerged, Chevy Iommi, the White Death as he was more commonly known in the ring. Amassing an impressive 11 fight win streak, Doug proposed going big time with Chevy, sensing his clear and raw talent. The so-called "White Death" made his professional boxing debut in March of 1981 and would proceed to go on an amazing 24 fight win streak and taking the community by storm. With a combination of Chevy's raw talent and Doug's power over people, the two raked in a sizeable profit among the two of them, eventually procuring Chevy a championship fight against the supposed greatest of all time and undefeated fighter, "Ice". Unfortunately, what at first seemed to be a once into a lifetime opportunity turned into a living nightmare. Chevy was soundly beaten down in the biggest fight of his life, getting TKO'ed in the 4th round. While still exceptionally gifted physically, Chevy's mind was broken. He would go on to lose 4 fights straight and subsequently retire from the sport indefinitely. No matter how much Doug pleaded and pushed him, Chevy never was able to reach the previous heights achieved by the two, a walking paradox in his own right.

Chapter II:

The year following Chevy's retirement would prove to be an important one in the lives of both himself and Doug. Repeated nights of heavy drinking would plague Doug, causing an ugly separation between himself and Chevy, as well as what little family he had left. Eventually, after a failed suicide attempt, Doug would admit himself into The Lakeview Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center in the summer of 1981. Chevy, lonely and alienated for the first time in his life, locked himself away from the world and would blow through a large chunk of his wealth on drugs and illegal firearms, the latter of which was seized by the local authorities and destroyed. Chevy was put on trial and convicted on both the gun charges and narcotics possession, sentenced to 6 years in prison with the possibility of parole.

In the big house, Chevy would try his best to keep to himself but found himself somewhat popular among the inmates who were aware of his boxing career. However, with this also came a slew of individuals and haters who would challenge him. One such challenger went by the name of Angelo Accardi, a young local hood locked up on cocaine charges and close to release. While skillful and full of adolescent rage and instability, (caused by years of neglect and abuse at the hands of his parents and older brother) Angelo had no hope of matching the years of experience Chevy had amassed under his belt. Throughout nearly a dozen fights between the two while incarcerated, Angelo never managed to best Chevy, but a friendly rivalry and blossoming friendship grew between the two, with Angelo swearing to beat him one day and Chevy vowing to take the young orphan under his wing.
Meanwhile, in rehab, Doug was facing his own problems. Besides the usual alcohol withdraws, he would make the discovery that The Lakeview Rehab center was actually where felons and convicts would go to escape the law, a fact known by local law enforcement but ignored in lew of hush money payments by The Salieri Crime family that owned it. Now, had Doug been the face in the ring fighting, he may have garnered more respect, but unfortunately for him, no one gave 2 shits about a washed-up coach/promoter. Doug was on the receiving end of several beatings from gangs of hoods that would jump him in packs. Not allowed to leave due to the rehab center's contract he had signed, Doug knew he had to adapt to life inside until his contract expired or he would not last long. Luckily, Doug met a woman by the name of Maria, another poor soul looking for rehabilitation, but instead finding more sorrow and pain. Maria and Doug would hit it off, bonding over their hometown of Stanton Island and love of music. Maria would supply Doug with the shank he used to kill 2 members of the gang that was accosting him, attaining newfound respect from the other "patients". With Maria backing him up, he would go on to begin a smuggling operation out of the rehab center, stealing large amounts of restricted medicine from the facilities supply rooms with the help of a shady member of the staff by the name of Johnny Dickerdown who was more than willing to make some, "real motherfuckin money". The drugs were then funneled out through some of Doug's old Boxing connections. This, of course, could not last forever without the Salieri's taking notice. 3 months into his rehab stint, Maria would reveal to him that she was pregnant with his child, a fact that drove Doug to ensure there would be enough money made and saved waiting for him upon his release. However, 8 months into her pregnancy, disaster would strike, as the Salieri's would finally discover the identity of their narcotics thief and take action. After a last-minute warning from Johnny Dickerdown, (the two had grown close and helped each other out of numerous scraps with the Salieri's over the last year) Doug took his pregnant wife and all evidence he had accumulated of the family's wrongdoing and attempted to make his escape with Johnny pledging to follow suit. Unfortunately, Doug and Maria were caught while fleeing across the yard and held at gunpoint by several of Salieri's goons. Recognizing this as the man who had cost them so much product and revenue, (and with this pregnant woman no less) the Salieri's brutally stabbed Maria in the stomach with a switchblade multiple times while Doug tried in vain to shake off his captors. In a moment of pure chaos, Johnny would ambush the scene with his stashed Glock and helped Doug slaughter the goons. Maria would groan in agony and die along with her unborn child in Doug's arms as the rain and thunder roared overhead. After an anonymous delivery in the mail, the F.B.I. was able to shut down the Salieri's operations and arrest most of its high-ranking members.

Chapter III:
After 3 years in prison, Chevy was released on parole in the spring of 1984. His first order of business? Getting in touch with Angelo, who had been released a year prior and promised they would meet up upon Chevy's release. Angelo had done quite well for himself in the year since being released, having an entire weed growing operation running out of his apartment and loyal customers who knew him for his exotic buds. Chevy became Angelo's business partner and confidant, allowing the two to expand their operations into Downtown and Southside. As fate would have it, the duo's best buyer in Southside proved to be Johnny Dickerdown, who unbeknownst to Chevy and Angelo, was working with Doug and his acquaintance Christopher Falcon in counterfeiting and racketeering jobs. Sensing a great drive and hunger in both Chevy and Angelo, Johnny offered them jobs running some shakedowns on local "white shirts", as Johnny put it. After several good-paying jobs in combo with weed revenue, fate would reunite Chevy and Doug when he was brought in to meet the boss. Doug Walker, Chevy Iommi, Angelo Accardi Jr., Johnny Dickerdown, and Christopher Falcon. Five of New York's hardest gangsters came together and formed what would become the most notoriously violent street gang around. The Death Row Rydas. Neither Heaven nor Hell could contain their talent or charisma, garnering a following of gang bangers and OG's. The mantra of the D.R.R. is known on the streets as the "OG's Truth", "Dedicated to the Ryda's that was down from day one, welcome to Death Row."
