Andrea Marcella started the family in pursuit of monetary gains when he saw the opportunity to work with the Sicilian Mafia, otherwise known as La Cosa Nostra. While La Cosa Nostra grew into incredible power, subduing businesses and individuals into payments for protection, Andrea sought to create a relation with the local Captain of the Cosa Nostra Mafia. After creating a relation with the Captain, the Marcella Family became allies with La Cosa Nostra, gaining control over territories to control and aiding the Cosa Nostra. . With the newly gained control over some of the Cosa Nostra territories, Andrea started to gather more respect and following within their territories. His family slowly relinquished their regular lives, they quit their jobs, closed some of their stores, remaining only the ones with the most cash flow for an easier method to launder their money. With the growing numbers of their members, Andrea and his Captains began to enroll Police departments into their pockets, engaging in their activities, ensuring their status as a mafia family. . The Relations with the Cosa Nostra became stronger and bigger, gaining more and more control over territories, allowing for La Cosa Nostra to head into new ventures around Italy and the rest of Europe. Still working under La Cosa Nostra, Andrea always played himself and the family under La Cosa Nostra's wing, never thinking about undermining the huge Family. He slowly raised his children ensuring they learned their ways into the family business. He made sure that when Marco and Tony became teenagers and reached the age of 18, they completely were inducted into the Family, with their status as Captains, working for their father and giving all of their strength to the Family. Andrea Marcella ( The Founder, The First Boss ) After years of working with La Cosa Nostra, Andrea Marcella perished due to natural causes, and therefore the control of the Marcella Family was handed down to his eldest son, Marco Marcella. Marco maintained relations with the Cosa Nostra and made the decision to expand the reach of the family by sending his younger brother, Tony Marcella, to the United States with close members of the family to start a family cell there. Giving control to Tony, as the Boss of the newly formed Marcella Family Cell in New York. . Tony Marcella selected his two Lieutenants and a few of his most trusted soldiers to follow him in this new objective to the United States. His right-hand man, his closest and most senior Lieutenant was made his Underboss, Matthew Golbergstein, and his second most trusted Lieutenant, Mark Jefferson, became his Consigliere. Both men joined the Marcello Family when Tony met them during his time in School. The three friends were always trouble makers, which Andrea saw as a good thing, they always showed they were able to handle themselves. The three men trained by the most respected and high-standing captains within the Family, becoming one of the most successful leaders within the Family. Hence why they were chosen by Marco to lead the newly formed U.S Cell of the Family. Marco Marcella ( The Boss ) The Boss for the entire Marcella Family.
