Origins & Organization

The Bay Financial Group is a product of the boom in private equity establishments in the late 1970’s. Founded by veteran banker and accounting expert “Ethan Bay”, the Bay Financial Group is an independent venture capital firm that utilizes and manages a joint venture fund acquired from contributions made by wealthy New York business men. Bay Financial makes its profits by overseeing the heavy lifting involved in the investment process, by managing and observing current and potential ventures.

In order to accomplish this, the Group relies upon a simple internal structure to affirm a chain of command and proper distribution of tasks. Ethan Bay himself and Clinton Brown are the chief executives of the Group, occupying the positions of President and Vice President respectively. Beneath the two previous positions, an Executive Board has been established that consists of the five biggest shareholders of the Group, that has the power to veto investment decisions that are deemed too risky to pursue in good faith. Additionally, a Secretary position makes up the final piece of the management puzzle, and serves as an overseer of day-to-day operations of the Group, and as a liaison between the Group and the shareholders. Outside of management, a variety of linearly structured positions allow for staff to be hired and assigned to different pay grades, and work their way up through the Group.

Objectives & Function

The primary objective of Bay Financial is to become and stay a profitable investor in local industry. While banks often generate income through loans with interest, the Group will profit by betting on the success or failure of local entrepreneurs. It is often the case that many local upstart businesses and organizations are unable to grow because of a simple lack in financial resources. By serving as a remedy for this common problem, local industry will thrive, and the return on the investments made by Bay Financial will inevitably appear.

Additionally, the Group also has the secondary goal of hiring as many individuals as is logistically possible. While most readily available non-government jobs in the city focus around menial labor and other monotonous services, the Group would like to provide a working environment that rewards intelligence instead of endurance, and the rewards are significant. The three types of regular staff employed at Bay Financial are managers, attorneys, and general personnel.

  • Managers are higher ranking employees that are assigned to oversee and tend to the individual clients of Bay Financial, and draft regular reports on the status of investments.

  • Attorneys are internal legal experts responsible for advising the Group on the legality of their business at any given time, as well as drafting and reviewing the unique contracts produced for clients individually.

  • General personnel includes all contracted employees of the Group that are not attorneys or managers. These are typically lower ranking employees that handle the legwork for the Group, which mainly focuses around scouting out potential ventures and arranging meetings with clients.
Employees are paid on a salary basis that is dependent on their respective rank within the company. Additionally, large bonuses may be paid out to employees for creating a contract, or securing an investment deal. This allows lawyers and other ruthless businessmen to pursue a job that pays extremely well, and is not involved with crime or criminal law.

[TL;DR]
This faction is intended to provide legal jobs for lawyers outside of criminal defense, as well as hire other skilled businessmen. Additionally, this faction is going to serve as a means for other new factions to acquire an initial investment in order to grow and become successful. The money for investing will come from the pockets of this faction and its shareholders. The current initial venture fund is 1,000,000.00 USD.

Too often is it that case that new factions, both criminal and legal, get snuffed out of existence simply due to not having a proper avenue to receive the necessary assistance to start hiring employees or recruiting members needed to grow.

Legal factions are cool. +1

Seems like a good basis for a faction. I've known the organizers of this group for a while and know they're pretty competent.
