Make it harder for FBI to gain intelligence - DaBabie - 08-10-2021

I noticed the other day that FBI can just walk up to a factions area and just snap pictures and the people in the faction can't do anything about it, I think that if a member of FBI gets caught taking pictures there should be a rule in place where the members of the faction can either do something like "/me Smashes camera" so the pictures have to be deleted, or its grounds for instant pk. I think this would help the problem of PD taking over entire faction owned buildings (making faction members not want to play, and in turn lowering player counts) and would give the FBI a little more of a challenge with gathering intel, like it should be. IRL do you think a mobster would let a random man come up and just snap a few pics of the bar or casino their working at, NO! they would smash that shit.

I mean, can you give us specifics on existing situations? As far as im concerned, a lot of the raids happened because theres proof of such crime committed in that established area/building.

Bottom line of the story?
Don't do illegal stuff where you'll be expecting customers on a regular basis.

^ True, dont do illegal shit where the public can see. It's mafiarp after all, you should be scared of the government

To be fair I've seen the exact same shit that he's saying that feds just walk up and do /me takes a picture then walk away. IC you can always just do it back and get the description and look of an FBI agent. You should be able to smash the camera as most of the time theres no one doing anything illegal they're just taking pictures of your members

Simple solution:

Don't perform your illegal operations:
1. In public area
2. On your private property that can be viewed from a public area
3. On your business property that is accessible by the public

You make it easy for the FBI or the NYPD to take valid pictures, get warrants and lead to raids/seizures.

One would think people learn from other people's mistakes of doing exactly this but apparently not.

I think that Zoomer Rem and Winston all are not really getting the point

It's not about doing illegal shit

It's about FBI just walking up and making a whole book on everyone working at your place of work without them actually seeing anything illegal to you know warrant a type of mass information gathering on that scale.

Why shouldn't the feds be able to surveil high-profile criminal organizations? They certainly did that kind of mass information gathering in real life, it's how you build a case. Also, the criminals knew for sure that they were being surveilled and watched. It was on them to outsmart the feds and not get caught. Limiting RP to where it makes it harder for them is just dumb. As a criminal who moves drugs and guns you probably would assume that someone taking a picture of you is the feds, and destroying a camera or carrying hits on agents you don't even know the names of sounds dumb as fuck, you'd just get yourself arrested.

The point being that nothing should be limited in RP, and that kind of mass surveillance did actually occur in real life, it's on you to figure out a way where that kind of surveillance doesn't get you in risk in any way.

Ok but i dont think the feds just walked up and snapped a pic they would have to stake out in another building and shoot pics from across the street, not right in their face???

RE: Make it harder for FBI to gain intelligence - wackyTiger - 08-14-2021

the reason why FBI and other federal agencies just snap photos of a crime as evidence is cause getting shit like a wiretap warrant is gonna be such a hassle to get signed by a judge or a district attorney, so they’d basically rather go the easy route by snapping photos easily.

not to mention, the posters above have a point. if you don’t wanna have a photo snapped of you committing a crime, just don’t do it publicly. that’s the point of organized crime, it’s meant to be discreet and out of the public eye if they don’t wanna involve themselves with law enforcement.
