Stop the metagame on Plain clothes cops - Soler - 11-02-2021 Going in plain clothes as a cop might sound like a nice idea but with the blue name above your head its literally impossible to have a good investigation if everyone just casually says your name out loud. So i came up with this idea: The plain clothes flag. i dont know if this would be realizeable in that exact way but this is my idea Everyone that has acces to the PC flag gets acces to a special command that automatically transfers them into the Citizens of New York Faction. This would grant the cops more rp opportunities as undercovers. RE: Stop the metagame on Plain clothes cops - RickJak - 11-02-2021 Not a bad idea. +1 RE: Stop the metagame on Plain clothes cops - Sir_Bodges - 11-02-2021 I'd be fine with actual detectives having this for real investigations. But plainclothes units are just that. They still are supposed to do normal police work and don't have the responsibility of undercover investigations. So walking up close to one should be enough for you to recognise that you are a cop. You are not a detective and so you don't need to do those investigations, you are in a branch of patrol. Of which you can use the plain clothes element to stay hidden provided you stay far enough away and be discrete. RE: Stop the metagame on Plain clothes cops - Black_George - 11-02-2021 +1 Deffinetly needed for PCU and detectives RE: Stop the metagame on Plain clothes cops - [DV-N] Lovsos - 11-02-2021 (11-02-2021, 06:14 PM)Sir_Bodges Wrote: I'd be fine with actual detectives having this for real investigations. Plainclothes units on special assignment don't do "normal police work". Normal police work is patrol, with a badge and gun showing at all times. The entire point of going plainclothes is that you are not noticed, and walking up real close to a plainclothes cop and realizing they are one doesn't make any sense. The STANG unit (the one that replaced PCU) doesn't go as deep cover as detectives do, however they don't just do regular patrol duties either. Narcotics/gun buys, stings, and setups are ops are something that would require this flag. Also plain clothes should not be able to join a faction possibly leave that to the FBI RE: Stop the metagame on Plain clothes cops - Soler - 11-04-2021 (11-02-2021, 11:19 PM)[DV-N] Lovsos Wrote: [quote='Sir_Bodges' pid='10348' dateline='1635876895']Don't know if you know that PCU doesn't exist anymore, but plainclothes guys don't just patrol now. I just had a perfect example on why you cant be a PC cop with the blue name yesterday: I was walking up to the motel simply asking how people are doing, wearing no badge and no visible gun, They were telling me to leave even though in rp i am just a random that wants a fucking motel room. Its just bad RP that could be fixed if people wouldnt metagame. But since they do we need this change. |
