Backstory:

The Camorra Family is a southern Italian crime family, but its organized and structured more like a criminal society or a syndicate if you will. The camorra family was founded by Paolo Di Lauro it was his idea to start a new wave within the Italian crime family's. Instead of following the pyramid structure he decided to assign his 3 brothers control over separate regions of they're village in Secondigliano. His brothers then structured they're clans as if they were families within the family. Rewind 30 years from the time Paolo rose to power and formed The Camorra Family Paolo grew up in a single mother household he was the oldest of 4. His mother worked long hours on they're front porch as a shoemaker his mothers name is unknown in a 1973 interview Paolo stated that nobody in his family went to school because his mother couldnt afford to send them Paolo and his 3 brothers worked those long hours right along side they're mother until they came around the age of 14. Once Paolo and his brothers entered they're early teenage years they decided to take the next step to prosperity they realized that the street gangs had the finest clothing, the finest jewelry, and were treated like kings they admired the way these gangsters were respected. They decided to band together and form the "Nuova Gang" for the next 15 years they grinded out robberies, drug sales, and racketeering. Paolo and his brothers had lots of power but a lot of they're members weren't disciplined so they decided to follow lead and convert to a family that's when Paolo had the idea to form "clans" he militarized the gang if you will. Soon after they reformed they changed the name to "La Famiglia Camorristica" (The Camorra Family) the other established families were not fans of this however and started to seek war on the newly founded Camorra's this was a big hit for the Camorras as they had spread out so they were very vulnerable slowly one by one Paolos brothers were killed and they're crews were disbanded causing Paolo to flee to the USA with a few of his tenets they got established in New York where Paolo and his men worked as fuel pump tenders until they could afford to get a house on the west side of NY the exact location is unknown. Once Paolo and his 4 tenets established themselves in the house they started scouting for connections to once again establish control and funds for the family. They started by frequenting a pub a few blocks away from they’re property there other mob bosses would hold illegal betting gigs in the basement. Paolo noticed that when these gigs would go down the same few guys kept winning every other game. They had already been accused of cheating once before but nobody had the balls to stand up to them and confront them do to they’re reputation as hitman for a high ranking mob boss Paolo however was unaware of they’re status and overlooked them as they were in their early 20’s and Paolo summed it up to ego. Paolo kept eyes on this group of men for the next few weeks he noticed they always exited out the back and walked a block or so to they’re car. The route they took was through a back alley avoiding the busy bronx streets Paolo had an idea on how to get they’re next big score to finally establish themselves in NY. Paolo held a meeting with his few tenets they called it the (incontro per il succeso) the meeting of success in this meeting Paolo pitched the idea of gathering what few weapons they could and planning an ambush on the group of scammers at the local pub. The plan was to have 2 of the tenets hide with wrenches behind the trash cans just to the right of the backdoor. Paolo and the other 2 tenets would have knives on them and would loiter just a few steps outside the back door and as soon as they exited they would attack from the front while the other 2 flanked from behind. On the day of the robbery Paolo wrote a letter lying to his mother back in Italy stating:

“I have landed a job in the construction industry as a foreman paying good money. I want to fly you out here but i can't seem to get time off work I will continue to write you much love -Paolo”


Paolo and his men left for the pub around 8:23 pm on the way their Paolo stated the world was quiet this was the first big rush for Paolo since they left italy it brought back a wave of memories. They arrived at the pub and carried out business as usual got their dranks and headed down to the basement to begin betting once they got down there they spotted the group of men. Paolo felt envious of the jewelry, clothes, woman all of it he wanted it. Paolo and his men acted as usual until the pub started to close up thats when the 2 tenets that were going to be flanking made they're leave and got posted by the trash cans paolo and his 2 other men went out back to “smoke” they listened as the cars out front started up and the people started leaving minutes felt like hours Paolo stated the anticipation was almost to much to bare. After what felt like an hour the group of men finally emerged from the doorway Paolo froze the men didnt take notice to Paolo and his men and continued to walk past them Paolos closest tenet sprung into action driving his knife into the first guys neck thats when Paolo fell out of the trance and also began to attack the men thats when the ambush fired off the other 3 tenets sprung into action stabbing and beating the group of mobsters relentlessly Paolo stated "you could smell the blood in the air" They took over $97,000 in cash, jewelry, and a few guns off the mobsters. They continued to commit small time robberies similar to this one stacking up over 2.5 million at the same time drawing attention from other families and even law enforcement. They specifically caught the attention of Michael Bonanno the Don of one of the most powerful families in NY. Michael admired the band of southerners he sent an enforcer to get in contact with Paolo and to offer him a deal the deal was that The Camorra Family could purchase coke off of the Bonannos at a discounted price if they carried out hits for Michael. Paolo accepted as this was they're first real chance to come up and make a name for they're selves in the city. Paolo and his men carried out these hits and grinded out the cocaine until they could afford to expand into more parts of the city. Eventually Paolo and his men were making so much money they decided to open a gas station and use it as a recruitment spot to bring in more and more men they became very independent which Michael wasnt to fond of. Paolo took notice of Michaels sudden dislike of him and became very paranoid he stopped doing all forms of business with the Bonannos and became completely reliant on his men and they're established connections within the city. As of recent Paolo and The Camorra Family resides all over NY and are growing fast.
