Oman Staff Application - Oman - 03-20-2022 Hi all, after some thought i've decided to apply for staff. Thanks in advance for reading, any questions or queries about this application feel free to get in touch or leave a reply In-Game Name(s): Denny “P” Price, Officer Kenny Carter Steam Name: Oman Steam Profile Link:https://steamcommunity.com/id/omengslol/ Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:79533746 Discord Username: Oman#3418 Age: 23 Total playtime on Server (Do !time in-game): 2mo 1w 4d 6h 16m Time Zone: Kiwi time cuz! - GMT +13:00 How much time can you realistically dedicate to moderating?: Realistically I can commit to at least 2-3 hours per day, probably anywhere from 3-5 hours on weekends. I’m typically on server during off peak hours, so can service these times and plug gaps where staff are asleep. I have had a fair amount of free time recently due to COVID etc. Have you read the rules?: Yes many times Do you have a working microphone?: Yes Do you acknowledge that you must attend all staff meetings (Unless you have stated why you cannot beforehand): 100% acknowledge this and understand, could be some issues with timezones dependent on when meetings are scheduled. I’m sure if other AU/NZ staff have managed to attend these it shouldn’t be an issue for me. Are you familiarized with SAM and/or Nutscript commands?: Some experience with Nutscript commands. I have no experience with SAM, however I am a fairly quick learner so with some assistance/training this shouldn’t be an issue. Do you acknowledge that lying on this application will result in immediate denial and blacklisting from staff?: Yes, I attest all detail in this application is 100% accurate. ------------------------------------------------- Long Answer Questions proceeded with an asterix require a response of 5 Sentences Minimum. What is your motivation/reason for applying?: As I am mainly on the New York server, my primary objective would be to moderate and support mainly in NY. I spend quite a lot of time on the server and constraint run into the issue of no staff being online, especially while there has been a noticeable drop off in player/staff count recently with Miami opening. I also feel as though I am a well respected member of the community that could easily step up into a staff position. On a day to day basis I see rules being broken and not enough staff available to assist. I would hope if my application is successful, I could support the team with taking tickets. Why should you be considered over other candidates?: I don't feel as though I should be picked over anyone, as everyone has something to bring to the table. Here's what I bring to the staff team; I feel as though I have a high maturity level compared to most of the player base, and my level headedness and problem solving skills could contribute to serving the player base. Because of my high playtime on Diverge, I have a great understanding of the rules. Other than my two previous bans, I have worked hard to play within the ruleset and feel as though my warning/ban history will support this. Because of my timezone, being able to moderate the server during off peak hours will provide players with additional staff headcount to support when typically there may be none. I try to set a good example especially within my faction, reminding people of rules and trying to stop any metagame in order to give everyone a fair experience. Lastly, I am a very understanding individual and would provide an unbiased opinion in all staff sits no matter who I am dealing with. Do you have any previous staffing experience? (Please list where, what position and how long): Honestly nothing worth mentioning, just a few preb AU/NZ DarkRP servers nobody would’ve heard about from 2013-2016. Mostly used ULX to staff these servers Have you been banned before on any of our servers? If so, why?: I’ve been banned twice from Diverge. Please see these listed below:
Would you say that you are well known in our community, what's your reputation, what do other members think of you?: I would like to think I am fairly well known within the community. During my interactions with other players/staff, I have worked hard to create meaningful relationships and treat everyone with respect at all times regardless of the situation (Excluding RP). Within my faction I have tried to make a positive impact to those around me, from taking the time to assist new players, and providing ingame activities/events for people to partake in. I hope anyone who has dealt with me previously feels as though I am a chill, understanding and laid back person. Have any staff members recommended you? If so, list their names: Rage, Chadderman, Smokey J, DaSchmeeze ------------------------------------------------- Problem Solving Detail step by step exactly the actions you would take. Someone RDMs and you are currently off-duty. How do you handle this?: Firstly, I would take a clip of the incident. Then, as I am off duty, I would make an @ ticket to see if any staff are available to assist. If the ticket is taken, this is most ideal. However, if no staff are available to assist, I would RP my way out of any situation I currently am in and swap to my staff char to assist. You have seen a fellow staff member of higher or equal rank than you abusing fairly often, but never doing anything too noticeable. What do you do?: I would begin by staying vigilant around this person and thinking about clipping any instance of admin abuse I see. Dependant on my relationship with the person, I may mention something to the “abuser” to try and get them to think of the effect of their actions, but this is again dependent on my relationship with said abuser. Any clips of blatant abuse would be sent to UA directly for investigation. A very good friend of yours joins the server. Over the course of an hour, you’ve received multiple complaints about them not following rules, RDM’ing, and minging. How do you proceed knowing this can affect your friendship with them?: It would be most ideal to create a ticket or ask another staff member to deal with the sit, as this would remove any potential bias. If this wasn’t possible, I would deal with this as any other player in the community and proceed with an admin sit, I would check PO’s and issue out a punishment to the player accordingly.
