New Illegal/Possible Legal Racket - Lemmers - 05-16-2022
A new racket is somewhat needed for some added variety into the server. I’ve been thinking about it for a bit so here it is, I’m happy to take any suggestions or changes.
Illegal diamonds, or just diamonds in general. To state the racket simply.
Illegal side: Factions gain access to a diamond NPC where they can order shipments of uncut diamonds. These diamonds could come in a variety of different carats and qualities, or just be a simple generalized shipment. Due to these diamonds being from South Africa, or similar countries who were under a trade ban, these would be illegal of course.
After getting the shipment the person who bought it could sell the diamonds for a certain amount depending on carat. After bought, the diamonds could be taken to a new item, a diamond processor/cutter. I think it would be cool if there were different levels of processing which take different times. Maybe 3 or so levels. Level 1 would take 5 minutes, level 2 would take 10 and to fully process them for max profit it would take 15. It would be a nice little thing where the longer you wait the more profit you get. I won’t suggest any actual monetary amounts as i'm not the most experienced economist.
Legal Diamonds
People could order lower quality uncut diamonds and sell them to new business factions. It would work similarly to oil. They buy the shipment, retrieve it, then sell it to some of the diamond folk who then either sell the uncut diamonds straight up, or have to process and cut them and then give the original seller some cash back. Of course, the legal and illegal sides could end up bleeding together, the diamond business people buying better quality diamonds from illegal sources.
So what do you think? I believe a new racket could breathe some new life into the economy and put some interest back in. As well as there being a possible new legal faction aside from the oil people.

fucking +1 all the way we need more rackets in general and i feel like with this one its kind of thinking outside of the box, i mean its time period appropriate and who wouldnt want to fuck with diamonds tbh. it could also add newer things like jewelry heist like you get uncut diamonds there and you get to cut them up and u make a massive profit bc u dont have to pay for shipments of diamonds or however u would get them and it would be in bulk

+1 I thought about a catering company or public food supply company people could work for in general to add the rp of influx of food into the city and businesses, similar to oil, not high-paying, but better than repairing electrical boxes or what not.
