Reason for PK: Breaking FearRP
Why should you be unPK'd?:
The individual that placed me under FearRP had no real grounds to do so, not only is he a member of the faction I am in, he only placed me under FearRP with the intention of a PK. They were not acting under the authority of faction leaders and were acting purely out of spite with the intention of a PK for FearRP.
This PK was clearly baiting as he initiated with the intention of killing me, not to mug me. After trying to do the same with two other members, holding them at gunpoint and not actually taking any items or mugging them, it shows clear intent that they were depending on at least one of them breaking FearRP. When they kidnapped one of the members, they took him to a warehouse and held him at gunpoint, they did not take anything from him and didn’t bring any restraints. So this doesn’t really show the full intentions of muggings. Which directly points towards baiting, waiting for someone to break FearRP so they can PK them. If you would class all of these as a valid mugging despite nothing being taken, then that should equally fall under the mass mugging rules. The rules also say that you may tie the victim and rob them, which in none of the previous instances did they do, meaning they weren’t mugging with the intent of stealing where they had the opportunity to.
At the time of him killing me, I asked him what he was doing through discord, as obviously you would not expect a faction member to hold you at gunpoint without reason. I took it as a joke as I had just tabbed back in and we are mates OOC and IC so I wouldn’t expect him to try and PK me. There isn’t any reason between us IC as to why he would pull a gun on me and hold me under FearRP. You are required to have an RP reason to hold someone under FearRP, which they did not have for me. They stated their intention was to take him hostage and see where it goes from there, but going off of the previous two it doesn't hold up as both were let go. It also says mugging is not a valid reason for kidnapping/ransom. So it is a very convoluted story and the PK should be invalidated for this reason. They had no RP reason to initiate on another faction member that had caused no harm to them. This does not follow any sort of established character they have. Creating an unwarranted escalation by taking a hostage with the intention of just killing people and then killing a hostage clearly shows that they started the encounter with the intention of escalation, this is especially bad when they had no RP reason to take me hostage as I had done no tangible or intangible damage to them.
The rules state you cannot bait someone into a PK. ‘Confrontation in order to escalate it then use it as a reason to PK someone’ in this case that is exactly what happened. This is an invalid reason to initiate, but as proven previously they had no intention to mug me as they already did so to two other members, one being Coconut, a staff member who can confirm. With another being a different faction member, which the recording can be provided. They may try to say they had a valid reason, which is that they wish to damage the family by killing me. The rules also protect me here. Stating that they must have done something to ‘directly harm’ ‘harm in a physical, or financial way’. Which I had not, else they would have got a pre-approved PK from staff and not tried to get a retroactive PK. It also states in the rules that you can ‘Not PK over hurt pride or bruised ego’ which is exactly what their motive was. I myself have never damaged any of them in any way shape or form. Their reasoning is completely over damaged emotions leading to them baiting me into a PK situation by holding a gun at me for no just cause. Which is unfair for me to lose a year old character over a hurt ego.
It was not about getting money, mugging or any gain. It was about sending a message from disgruntled members. These members are a group of five that have just left the faction and have the intention to cause harm by any means, be that mass muggings, PK baiting or targeting. These characters have no reason to suddenly become mass muggers other than that they are unhappy with high command. They had continually put other faction members into PK scenarios for this reason and that is made clear by them not doing anything aside from placing them under FearRP then leaving. I understand the staff member may have not been aware at the time of their previous actions. Although there was also no RP done following, no body left behind or PK message shown, meaning at the time we could not do anything about it or even investigate what happened.
The messages provided show that they didn’t intend to steal anything, but to “send a message” and that it “wasn’t personal”. If it wasn’t personal then they had no valid RP reason to put me under FearRP where the rules require it, sure they could have gone and put the people who ‘harmed’ them under FearRP but this person wasn’t me. As it wasn’t personal to me. They should not be able to use a proxy to cause potential damage to someone else as that would allow them to do it to absolutely anyone they choose. They went after people for an OOC reason of feeling disrespected or having a grudge with the faction which is not allowed, nothing happened to them aside from being asked to do more work for the faction. Staff have also been warning them about fail muggings so it is clear it is a recurring theme of them trying to PK people as muggers. Which falls under mass mugging and PK hunting.
In conclusion, each of these reasons points toward an invalid PK and in their own right should allow me to get my character back. OOC grudges or hurt feelings should not allow people to take it out on whoever they can around them and cause as much damage as they can. Allowing them to attack again and again without retaliation being used yet. They are still trying to bait as they have been putting themselves in situations likely to result in a PK so that once one has died, they can then all attack and do whatever they want. Which is completely unfair and allows for continual baiting and laying traps to get a one up over others. I would never expect another faction member, especially someone I have known for a long time, to place me under FearRP to PK me. The fact that they tried to PK me with the intention of sending a message to faction high command does not allow him to place me under FearRP. Undeniably showing their actions were to bait me into a PK. The discord messages that Seb sent to me following the PK prove that.

Hello! I am the banning admin. The reason that you were pked was due to breaking fearRP. In response to intentions, there was no way to figure out what went on in the head of the person who held you under fearRP. The fact of the matter is that he held a gun on you, gave you commands which you admitted he did in the sit. You then turned around and shot at the aggressor. I also feel like you possibly(not being accusatory) trimmed down the clip. The full clip shows you with a firearm aimed at you, you being given commands and turning around and firing at the person where you end up dying. The other people that you stated got held at gunpoint was being robbed in the video, which is why they state "let him search your pockets", this was not for no reason. I will agree that the messages before and after are bit wierd/fishy. However, the exact reason for the pk was breaking fearRP: which you undoubtedly did. But once again, I belive the pk was just however the messages show to be slightly fishy and I will now leave this in the hands of members of UA. I hope this helps, have a wonderful day.

This is a really interesting PK.
I agree with some statements you've said, and you do have a valid idea. It's difficult to confirm intention though, and the person being dumb who broke FearRP to begin with and died is also at fault.
But what you shouldn't have done is break FearRP to begin with. There was no point, and in the future you should learn because that is something you control. You can always stop yourself from doing it, to prevent yourself being killed.
But, the points you made is a proper concern and argument.
The player did leave the faction, and the evidence provided does show the intention of "hurting HC", but disguised it as a mugging. Instead of seeking of a proper reason to PK, the player used a mugging to PK bait you.
You don't always need to be the hero and save yourself.
Anyway, this was not at the fault of the PKing admin as there is always 2 sides to a situation, and one side looked valid (technically was).
