DEUCE HISTORY
[Image: unknown.png?width=524&height=651][Image: unknown.png]

Our story starts with a boy named Daniel. Daniel Simmons grew up in a modest home, with an honest working and square dealing mother and father who both loved their three sons dearly. Daniel was the youngest of the three; his oldest brother Ronald being 4 years older than him and his second oldest brother Calvin being 2 years older. His education was average, gaining a highschool education and getting a job as a mailman in Inglewood California at 16 and eventually getting into trouble with LAPD around the same age for using his address information he gained as a mailman to assist in home burglaries that occured across the city. Even though this was his first offense, the Judge threw the book at Daniel, charging him as an adult and giving him 3 years in federal penitentiary at the San Quentin state pen with no possibility of bail. His first year in Jail went relatively smooth as he was able to get protection from the Black Guerilla Family in exchange for using his connections on the outside to get money inside, allowing them to bribe guards to turn a blind eye so they can move things like shanks and drugs through San Quentin. The entire direction of his life would shift as he was approached by the warden and a few guards, saying that he was being transfered to Rikers Island.

It was rough being transfered to a prison in another state with nobody you know and no connections. However, Daniel took this opportunity to start a plan. He would not return to California, but instead would stay in New York and start the East Coast Deuce Nation. He remained in contact with his family as he was released, entering into a new city with new people with a new approach to life.

WHERE THE DEUCE COME FROM

The Deuce originates from California, specifically Los Angeles. They began in 1957 with only two members, which is where their name "Deuce" comes from. They sterted off as a fight club that would challenge rivals to rumbles and protected their neighborhood from racist white street gangs that would roam into black areas and harass teens and older blacks that were on their way to or from school/work. They started off as two "Decks": The Brawlin' Deuces and The 22nd Deuce Boyz. As they grew from a fight club into a street gang, they began to notice that other gangs in the state began using things like colors, insignias, clothes, and hand signs to diffrentiate themselves from one another as tentions began to rise in the 70s. The two "Decks" of deuces joined together on Hoover Street and became "Hoover Deuce", using their combined numbers to survive the onslaught of gang violence that was coming to their front door. They also began to wear black as their primary color of choice as well as wearing Detroit Tigers clothing for its large "D" design, which they use to represent the first letter of their gang name.

The New Nation

Daniels' "Deuce Nation" would need a starting set, and so, on the streets of Harlem, He formed the West Side Harlem Deuce, the first east coast set of the Deuce gang. He hopes to make a nation of gangs that are either allied or under the Deuce in New York to spread influence, protect their turfs, and make money. Daniel, while in Prison, Wrote what was essentially a guidebook for "Deucing" as he called it, which stated on page 5 that "...Where one comes from is what he should protect most, as home is where ones heart is...". He made it very clear in this book that he had a rather large disdain for law enforcement, seeing them as quote: "..the arm of an oppressive government that doesn't want to see any lower class person shine...". The Harlem Deuce are not hostile unless provoked outright but are no pushovers, as Daniel states that "Any tribe must be ready at a moments notice to fight and fight to win".

SIGNS AND INSIGNIAS
Symbols that the Deuce use include:

-The 2 of spades card

-The Letter "D" with a roman numeral "2" in the center

-And lastly they throw up a "2" with their hand as a gang sign.

A Closing Statement
We in Harlem Deuce plan to not only bring a non-toxic, fun, and heavily roleplay-involved faction into the server, but also to capture the essence of what it was like to be gang members on the streets of New York in the 1980s. I have a long history of running successful gang factions in MafiaRP and while there have been rough times (As with every faction) I plan to make this my best faction yet, using real life inspiration as well as studying black urban culture in the 1980s to form a street gang faction that hopefully sets the tone for other street gangs in the server. I plan on making my faction members heavily rely on /me's and taking in-game photos to fully invest themselves in the character and environment that they are roleplaying in. Hope to see you all on the server and thanks for reading!
