You cannot drop fish, the only real way to get it out of your inventory is to sell it or put it in a storage container. (The kind you can sell to the vendor at the docks, acquired with bait and a fishing rod.)

have the fish share one model that isnt aids instead of every fish being its own thing
it might not be realistic but its better than having it permanently locked into your inventory
