Wrongly PK'd - shxdow0 - 12-18-2022 Name of Character: Jackson North SteamID: 76561198314559231 Date of PK: 12/17 Reason for PK: 'Initiating' conflict with PD Why should you be unPK'd?: I should be unPK'd because it goes against the rules. Going by the PK Guidelines stating ■ Initiating a violent confrontation with Police Officers and being killed If you direct your attention to the lower portion of the thread, you can see what happened. Pause the video & you can see the police approaching us with what is considered by Lexicon of Law Enforcement as 'Less Lethal' (a tasers) and by definition a less lethal force is considered to be violent and/or dangerous. Same goes for any flying projectile, or anything meant to harm or disable an individual. With that being said, we were within our server rights of retaliating with our own lethal force. After playing for a year I've never encountered a situation like this. Admins usually are quick to realize the situation and are well educated on this this subject. If possible please provide video evidence or photo evidence if PK does not follow the guidelines: https://medal.tv/games/garrys-mod/clips/MztUGcrrKwk_R/d1337bfKCEWS?invite=cr-MSxHajksMzUzNTA0MTUs - I tried explaining to these administrators the situation & I wasn't given a reasonable chance given the information I provided being factual and backed by not only the server rules but by law. I was given 5 different reasons by the administrator 'moses' of why I'm being PK'd after I kept debunking his initial reason. You can see chat logs of our sit to see this. RE: Wrongly PK'd - Canadian-bacon - 12-18-2022 The pk guideline as follows: Initiating a violent confrontation with Police Officers and being killed. (Conditions apply, read further down) Note the 'Conditions apply, read further down' ■ Initiating a shootout or violent confrontation with Police can lead to a PK. Killing or attacking an Officer after initiating a violent confrontation leaves you PK active from officers for about 15 minutes. Generally we want people to not immediately go for the gun when dealing with Police, as a result if you escalate a situation to a shootout and lose you can be punished via PK as your character was killed. This does not apply if it is the Police that fired first or escalated to a shootout. ■ This does not apply to players who hit officers with their fists (Unless they Murder them) ■ This applies when a person shoots / stabs police for no reason or for a non valid reason (Traffic Ticket/insults/etc) ■ This does not apply if the Officer initiates the gun fire or escalates the situation to violence. ■ Officers may not execute suspects, they must make an effort to arrest a suspect and when possible render aid to a bleeding suspect. Unfortunately attempting to claim that using a tazer is 'violent confrontation' to slip past the specific wording isn't going to cut it. It very specifically states in the rules that it's not a PK if 'Police fired first or escalated to s shootout'. The wording is quite clear that it refers to lethal firearms and not tazers. Tazers are a normal non lethal way for police to detain a suspect meaning if a suspect wishes to escalate the situation by using a LETHAL firearm they can be subject to a PK if they lose the fight, ergo the risk / reward of a scenario. Not to mention there has not been any scenario overturned for this reason. Tazers are very clearly NON lethal as a user cannot be killed by them and players can very literally just outrun them. Your choice to pull out a gun to kill the officer is your own. A tazer doesn't constitute a shootout. Wrongly PK'd - Canadian-bacon - 12-18-2022 Your appeal has been reviewed and denied. We have determined this PK to be reasonable and/or justified. You may not re-appeal this PK. |
