Stock Brokership - Fox - 01-08-2023

Hi guys,

Had a bit of a suggestion which may be interesting. I've seen a few threads and had discussions in the past about money making as a civilian not being too ambitious. So I had an idea. This fits really well with the 1980s/early 1990's.

Stockbrokers

A new civilian faction, based on some sort of license that is to be obtained (think bar license) which enables people access to some sort of stock market. Doesn't have to be anything to fancy, could have a few random stock names and a certain amount of stocks, the price changes each time the server changes from day to night or fluctuates every few hours. This would enable people to set up their own stock service kind of stores to enable them to sell to players who aren't licensed to use the market. For example, if I was a broker and Jimmy Bbag came in and wanted 5 stocks in DivergeCorp, I would purchase it on his behalf and take a cut on the top. I would then call Jimmy Bbag if his stock went up. He makes profit and I make a small profit, but in the same respect if I didn't contact him, he's put his trust in something that may not have paid off in which he can seek legal council through lawyers or the brokerage itself.

Pros:
-A new civilian RP pipeline
-Theres not a huge amount of money generation as you would still need to obtain a license
-Players could then maybe put faction applications in to start broker ''faction companies'
-If worldcorp was made the stock broker hot spot, it would add a new full building to RP that is rarely used.

Cons:
-Could have some elements of abuse somehow, but could add an element of running an illegal 'boiler room' operation where players could lose their license, arrested etc.
-There would have to be limited number of stocks / price increase availible so that brokers would have to start small and work it up (i.e, not starting with 5k and in one sale end up with 500k)
-May end up with a degree of scamming if the decision to sell to players was initiated, but could be amended with the above by adding options to complain, seek legal etc.
