Ban Appeal - Dimes - 09-21-2023

Reason for ban: RDM
Length of ban: 2 Days
Reason for appeal (dispute/apology): I was at the motel when someone had told me to leave and the management there pulled out a gun on me, he threatened me and had his gun in his hand on safety but said I had to leave or he would shoot. This continued on for a few seconds but it got more intense and I was unclear if it would be RDM On his part as he had not given me a time frame(Example: "Leave you have 5 seconds to leave or we will shoot you").He kept insisting I had to leave or he would shoot and coming up to me with the assault rifle. On this server usually people have given me 5 seconds warnings or pointed there guns at me so it was unclear to me whether or not I could shoot him because although he had his gun on safety it sounded like he was about to shoot me, and he said he was going to shoot me so I shot him.
Why should you be unbanned?: I did not not know it was RDM and did not intend to break server rules I thought at the time I was justified to shoot my apologies.
Additional Information (images, videos, etc): I usually record and thought I did but my medal was full.

Hello, I'm the staff member that gave you the ban,
The property worker ordered you to leave the premise which you then pleaded to stay until he said "this is your last warning." upon which you started to back up off of the motel, You kept stalling taking small steps backwards but pausing long enough for the person ordering you to leave to have to repeat themselves for you to "Kept it walking". Your next response was you saying "Sir.... Sir come on" and then killing him. You had every opportunity to also just off of the property which was less than 10 feet away from you but you stayed put stalling with pleads.
"He kept insisting I had to leave or he would shoot and coming up to me with the assault rifle." as well as "...he said he was going to shoot me so I shot him. " - as quoted by you; this statement is a lie as no point between him ordering you to leave and you killing him, did he threaten to shoot you.

Like the way he was talking to me just sounded like his next action would be to shoot... Either he was going to RDM me as well or I was going to shoot because In my experience people need to give you a 5 second warning or point the gun on you. Why can't you understand I didn't attempt to break the rules and that this was a mistake.

hey pal, im the fella you killed, not once did i take my gun off safety, while yes i was threatening you by holding it on safety its still RDM to have shoot me in the situation unfortunately, you had many many chances to leave.

As we talked about in the sit, because of your history with just RDM alone, is why I banned you.

In regards to how a user is allowed to react to verbal threats.
There are two types of threats, an 'Active Threat' and a 'Idle threat'. Users may kill for an active threat but they may not kill for an idle a threat.
Someone saying they will kill/beat you in an argument or conversation. (Unarmed, weapon on safety etc) that is an idle threat.
Your ban appeal has been reviewed and denied.
We have determined this ban to be reasonable and/or justified.
