New rules regarding killing yourself while in custody - wirebat - 12-22-2023
I think as of right now, the whole method of killing yourself while in PD custody is quite retarded and honestly slightly powergame-y. Like take this for example, literally 10 minutes or so ago I had arrested a guy for shooting his gun into city hall, I was charging him for unlawful discharge of a firearm (MISDEMEANOR). And he had decided to kill himself WHILE his lawyer was in the cell with him speaking to him. His method of suicide was a "cyanide pill implanted in his teeth" that he had bit into while in the cell. Keep in mind that this guy literally jumped off of city hall roof to avoid capture, I think realistically falling from that height would make you bite down on that pill accidentally!
actual suggestion and no yap:
-Remove the ability to kill yourself in police custody unless it has been previously thought out in RP before your capture or something. maybe make it so you have to be uncuffed to do anything, quite difficult to tie a noose with a bedsheet while your hands are tied behind your back!

The cyanide thing is cringe and shame on the person who accepted that.
Most people usually hang themself in their cell while awaiting trial.
I understand it sucks and is dumb as for people to kill themselves while in police custody but there's no actual reason to say no, because if they're doing that they clearly don't want to participate in the legal rp and want to skip to the part where the char is PK'ed, like pendred said.
Removing the person's ability to kill themselves in the cell means they would just delete the character instead. At least with suicide PK's we log it better. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To be fair on boomroasted (admin who approved it) he did say it was quite silly of the guy and asked if me and cosmo wished to participate in medical rp to ATTEMPT to revive him (though he was already pkd, body was on the floor, and he prolly already deleted the char anyways).
But as for your last sentence canadian, maybe it could be deved so like similarly how you cant switch char while restrained you cant delete that character while restrained?
But I guess I do see the purpose of allowing self PKs in custody situations. I just think it could be handled a lot better, such as restricting it to those who are already in pen faction awaiting trial?
