What i think happened and why i think i should be unbanned:
Last night I was driving in my car when I accidentally hit this dudes car, they proceeded to follow me for a good 10-20 minutes before trying to pull me over and shoot me.
I ran them over, and escaped. all the while they shot at me. Now because I left shortly after (it was 4:00 in the morning) I wasn’t there to defend myself and now I’m vdm banned
I feel like this is a unfair sentence, as I wasn’t trying to vdm anyone, and I only did when they tried to shoot me and hunt me down
I would also like to point out this is not my first time getting into trouble, and i have been in scuffles with VDM before, however, since the new year i have been trying to climb back up the ranks, and i wouldn't be that stupid, so stupid enough to VDM someone right after getting into a new faction. i fell like the mods took one look at the case and my record and said, "yep, hit them with a ban." without me even being able to tell them what happened and honestly i think thats unfair, thats why i want to be unbanned

Hi there,
Banning staff member here. The reason for your ban wasn't because I 'looked at your record'. I took a ticket from someone who advised that you were mass VDMing people but didn't know who. I was keeping an eye on the car description but didn't find it at that time. The same guy and another player put a ticket through around 20-30 mins later with a video of you trying to run them over, one of them also had your characters name.
It appears that you had disconnected from the server, so I couldn't speak to you directly, so I had a look at your logs, there is a ton of logs of you doing the below actions. Which gave me enough evidence to suggest that you are trying to ram people, missing and then getting blown up. One of the ticket creators blew your car up 4 minutes apart at different places on the map. Now, before you say that they kept shooting your car up - if that were the case, you could've called staff.
- Entering a car
- Taking world damage (crashing)
- Having your car blown up by someone

Point I'm getting at here is that it isn't just the two ticket creators in the logs. There is other entries of you entering a car, getting world damage and then having your car blown up by someone. Which to me would indicate they've blown up your car because you tried to hit them.
I just double checked some of your world damage logs last night, and the coordinates that link to the damage are directly on a pavement and then you had your car blown up at the edge of it...?

Be mindful of who you hit with your car, a car is still a weapon and you need to ensure you avoid hitting people, even as accidents.
Fox cited supporting logs to validate at least one case of VDM. As a result I feel justified in a ban reduction here.
Note that checking someone's past offenses is a valid way of verifying if a user was previously punished for the same rulebreak before.
