Drunk Feature - TroubledGhost - 02-22-2024

Having drinking too much, only your screen goes wonkey. There is a feature somewhere that randomizes movement to imitate drunkenness - perhaps adding things such as "*Player vomits on the floor*" or "*Player starts babbling*" - including things to make his texts incoherent (scrambles his typed message) to indicate drunkeness.

It would give more realism and give cops another indication and usage of actually enforcing the public intoxication and disorderly stuff as well as actually putting into use of the sobriety test.

What do you guys think?

Seems like a bit of unnecessary waste of development time.

As stated by others, this can already be RP'd quite easily.

I disagree, it doesnt need deep development, but rather would add more immersiveness.. In the end when people drink there is no physical changes seen by other players only that of locally by those drinking that makes your screen funky. Adding something slight like this can do the long way.

to clarify. If i drink like 5 deadman shots or whatever. Then it makes walking unsteady - as if your holding a heavy customised glock when you aim, there's a lot of drift and is difficult to control, but the same with walking. Maybe the ocassional uncontrolled text speeches **player burps** or **player vomits** etc or the if heavily drunk then introduce blackouts/falling over.

Yes... you can do all of this yourself... and it requires quite effort to sustain such RP - but adding this can help make the RP smoother and easier to play along with as it wont be breaking as much RP and is often spontaneous.

Ive been on servers that have a puke effect when drunk that kinda works like bloodstains and the randomized movement ghost is talking about. Its pretty laf, not sure how hard it is to implement, might already exist some plugin for it or some shit. Its funny as fuck so im all for it. +1

Yes Marzii, there is an effect but again.. it's a LOCAL effect for the local player. The functionality im suggesting to be added is to add other effects for the local end as well as the end of other online players. Vomiting function sounds great. some random /me *player* starts babbling about his lost dog... but.. realises he doesnt have a dog.. as well as modified movement. If you're in a proper drunken state [probably like 10/20 drinks] it will cause impaired movement such as when walking forward, the player moves at random angles whilst "generally" moving in the desired direction - immitating actual drunkness.. Especially when driving, which should be neigh impossible.

Again. This will give the cops another penal code infringment they can ACTUALLY enforce instead of players pretending to be drunk and they just doing false sobriety tests when the only effect given is a "blurry" screen on the local end of the player that drank it.

Heck why not throw in breathalisers! Considering majority of the NYPD is the patrol force.
