Organization Backstory (Min. of 150+ Words):
The Idealists originally started out in 1956 as a small group containing friends of friends, essentially friends of the founder bringing in their own friends to join in. The group primarily focused on ideologies centered around American politics, often debating on the ethicality of laws, the morality of street crime, and sometimes even debating about the background history of United States Presidents.
The founder was Pete Henderson, a 19 year old who wanted to start an organization dedicated to protesting against certain policies that can ruin America, and sometimes even wanting to “start over America”, or “make America great again”.
Pete was a college dropout who was studying computers at the time and worked at a local fast food restaurant as a way to gain money from the side. His friend, and future co-owner of the organization Zed Daniels, decided that he wanted to involve himself in street crime and thought Pete along with himself are perfect candidates due to their minimum wages and lack of money.
Pete gave it the “okay” and began helping Zed in a lot of petty thefts and assault on others. They were terrible at hand to hand combat, but were good with weapons such as lead pipes and baseball bats. Pete was the brains of many “heists” as they called it, and Zed was the brawn. In their eyes, they made a perfect duo and attempted to become one of the most infamous street criminals in New York.
Fast forward 5 years later, Zed is in a lot of debt as he had took a loan from a loanshark and his dad was recently assaulted by a hitman who was there to warn them about the debt. Pete lived in a rundown apartment and hasn’t paid his rent in 3 months. He walked over to his front door, seeing a letter that was slid towards him from the other side. It was an eviction notice, telling him to pack his bags and leave or else his stuff will be seized by the government. So, he packed his bags and moved to his friends house.
A week or two later, Zed and his father was killed by the loanshark’s hitmen. Pete had noticed this and found that he was all alone without anyone to hire him and nowhere to live. He decided to stay at a relatives house until he got back up on his feet. A member of Pete’s organization at the time was interested in investing and possibly owning it, so he asked Pete if he could buy it for 12,000 dollars. Pete obviously agreed and immediately signed a contract with him, officially handing over his ownership.
The organization was now owned by a former convict named Joseph Patterson. Back when he was 21, he’d get involved with a group responsible for small heists, and were responsible for a heist on the Monarch Bank. They were shortly caught after, and were each sentenced to the state penitentiary for an unknown amount of time. Joseph as the new owner decided to invite a few business partners (who were his friends as well) to come and invest in his organization.
Joseph paid for advertisements and commercials on billboards, television, and newspapers. Future customers would see the advertisements, get interested, and reach out to the organization in any attempt to become a member. This cycle was normal, and continued for a very long time. During this time, the organization spanned over to Los Angeles and California, of which the company in those areas were managed by two separate persons.
Fast forward to 1981, Joseph is starting to get desperate. He feels that the way he is getting money and how much of it is being obtained is not enough. He decided to reach out to crime families to get them affiliated with his organization and was unfortunately turned down by a lot of people. He even paid street gangs a lot of money to be able to serve as security detail, but they all took the money for granted and ended up killing a lot of employees, essentially starting the downfall of The Idealists at this point in time.
A month or two later, Joseph starts getting blackmailed by some crime families that went undercover as VIP clients that got more access to the facilities of The Idealists. This meant that some behind-the-scenes work made by Joseph were public to VIPs. Undercover agents started sending in evidence of Joseph committing several federal crimes and misdemeanors, along with possession and distribution of narcotics, mainly methamphetamine and cocaine. The FBI had gotten involved and so did the NYPD, and they had finally caught Joseph on the act and arrested him for over 13 charges relating to drugs and misdemeanors. Joseph took a plea deal and admitted to a lot of the crimes committed, and so most of his charges were dropped leaving him to only a couple of years in jail along with probation.
Now in 1983, Joseph has finished up his jail time and was sent out on a 6 month probation period. He had successfully pulled it off on September, and was finally a free man once again. He barely had any sort of money and no other company would hire him. The Idealists were seized and permanently disbanded by the government as a company/business, meaning Joseph was jobless and homeless.
In March of 1985, Joseph hit his breaking point. He revived The Idealists, but as a street gang cult dedicated to the beliefs of American politics. The gang is fitted with American propaganda, mainly clothes that signify the American flag and some members even have face paint of the American flag itself.
Joseph started developing mental illnesses, sometimes doing things without knowledge of doing it and taking drugs. Back at his home in Suburbia that was claimed forcefully The Idealists, he had said to his other members that they were given a mission.
“We were given a direct objective, from God and Jesus Christ. We shall cleanse the streets of Manhattan of sinners who discriminate American pride, and we shall torture and kill those who spit on American ideals, politics, and culture.”
In short, The Idealists are a former business/organization and are now a corrupted cult centered around the ideals and politics of America, attempting to restart it by killing those who aren’t natural born Americans or those who discriminate America in any way shape or form.
Anyone is free to join The Idealists, however the group is a semi-serious roleplay gang that wants to revive the “RP” aspect of MafiaRP. We aren’t just a street gang that likes to commit crimes and PK people, we’re a cult that justifies our actions as an act of cleansing America of sinners and non-believers.
If you do wish to join The Idealists, you are not going to be immediately accepted. We are looking for veteran and or experienced roleplayers who know how to pretend to be something and portray a character. We are mentally insane lunatics, we are not an Italian crime family, so there are a lot of rules in crime families that we will heavily disagree with meaning we are nothing like other street gangs or Italian mafias.
