Conte's Oil Company started after as Bobs Oil Co Conte’s “C” Conte’s was trademarked in 1950 and had nothing to do with aviation fuel or, before 1950, the Bobs Oil Co. In New York, which was owned by Bob Gates at that time. It only moved to New York when Gates purchased a controlling interest in the New Corporation formed by Standard Oil to manage Bobs Oil Co which it acquired in 1927. The " C " stands for Community. Bobs Oil Co sold to 1955 Johnny Conte Sr
John Conte Sr brought 10 barrels of oil in 1955 after bob sold his business but Conte didn't have anyone to sell it to so he started looking around and found a man name, Pet Bruno. Pet Bought all of the oil and Pet took them to Italy to an Oil refinery Pet set up a business for Conte to start his work of buying oil.
Colonel Drake’s heralded discovery of oil in Pennsylvania in 1859 and the Spindletop discovery in Texas in 1901 set the stage for the new oil economy.
The first oil corporation was the Pennsylvania Rock Oil Company which was formed to exploit oil found floating on water surfaces near Titusville, Pennsylvania the first successful oil well would change the face of the oil industry forever.
Conte’s Oil Company is making its way around the US. Conte’s oil is always buying oil to add to our supply. John Sr signed multiple contracts with a couple of oil refineries around the US to sell to.
