Organization Backstory (Min. of 250+ Words & any images): The Cult of Mars was founded as a rather insignificant street gang. They began small in the alleys of New York Brawling merely for fun, though soon a belief began to spread among them, this belief being spread by a poor philosophy student named Paolo Bertucci. this idea, was centered around a belief that War instead of being a sin is a virtue that war led man to the development of civilization that we see today, that the many gods of war recognized by other civilizations were not separate gods but rather a single god whose virtues and characteristics were that of strength, resilience, combativeness, and honor. This idea was rather quickly accepted among those in the gang, and so this group of men turned from a lowly street gang to a band of young men who believed themselves to be children of an eternal heavenly father who would lead them victorious through battle. They called themselves the Cult of Mars. Soon these young men headed under Paolo Bertucci began robbing at first convenience stores, then pawn shops, and soon enough they began robbing banks. Robbing was not their only focus soon the Cult of Mars driven by their belief in the divinity of war began selling firearms. The Cult of Mars eventually began to develop rivalries as is natural for street gangs and criminal organizations. From their rivalries they entered the the business of human trafficking, selling the friends and family members of rival gangs and people who had made themselves enemies of the Cult of Mars. Unlike other organizations their motivations were not purely monetary, but instead ideological. Seeing the United States as a degenerate nation which enabled the lazy and incompetent the cult sought political power as a way to bring the world closer to the glory of their god. Though no members became president or part of senate some did become local mayors, or part of the police force, some even ending up as sheriffs, who would attempt to cover up murders committed during ritual sacrifice, or gang disputes. Despite the Cult of Mars not becoming a Global power depending on what neighborhood, district, or town one found themselves in they would be wise not to speak ill of Mars, for maybe even authorities which you thought you could trust most were hiding a secret devotion. On top of covert membership those dedicated to Mars had a system of mysteries that would be revealed to members once they had shown themselves to be valuable. This system of Mysteries was a close guarded secret though rumors have been heard and spread throughout the US.
