GMOD crashes when I try to join

I've subscribed to all the workshop content, I've verified the game files, installed CSS, TF2 and HL2, tried "download map files only", and GMOD keeps crashing when I try to join the server on "workshop complete" load bar

.... Let your workshop downloads complete before joining a server. Having to load workshop content AND the server files is too much for many PC to handle...
