Organization Backstory (Min. of 250+ Words & any images):
Created on January 3rd, 1986, as a failed bet during a New Year's Eve party, Dante Rossi (practicing attorney, oil & fishing magnate, womanizer, shepherd of whiteshirts) had a vision of New York's dockyard- To one day collectivize the wealth of all hard-working blue-collar workers and enjoy a summary profit through honest labor. Pouring much of his meager personal wealth into the business, Rossi found many obstacles on the path to righteous mundanity. Acquiring a fishing license; Locating a sufficient office space; Consolidating manpower- these were just a few of the trials faced during the company's modest start-up. Already juggling several legal cases, financial problems, and domestic issues, Rossi had considered shutting down the operation several times, but nevertheless persisted, wanting to seek to establish a true protective and mutually-beneficial program for himself and the hard workers of New York City. The initial beginning of ROFU (Rossi's Oil & Fishery Union) was shaky, and so Rossi sought the help of the City Council, along with a number of potential investors, in order to better officialize and affirm his Union's continued existence. He struck luck when he signed a contract with the oil refineries off-shore, now able to build Union boats that would transport barrels of oil into the New York economy, along with a contract to fishing and whaling in the surrounding regions. He didn't stop there- expanding his Union into the city, one of the Union's biggest protections is through litigation. Everyone involved in the Union has access to free legal advice, as well as experienced attorneys in scenarios where the law becomes involved. Hence, the Oil & Fishery Union has become synonymous with the hard-working blue-collar worker, and affords him the proper protections as such, whether it be job security or legal help.
