Backstory almost works, but not as much as the backstories of the current active factions.

Used to be inactive and still acts the same way he did when his fac was inactive, why would it be active now?

Changed your +1 to a -1 because I stopped working with you. 
Also I don't know where this whole inactive thing is coming from we would have up to like 8 members on almost every day in SDE
