Definitely one of the best backstories I have seen. From the beginnings dating back through the centuries and reasoning for their existence, to it's modern application and alternative history of Afghanistan. Plus the diversity is something we need.

Glad to hear everyone enjoyed the backstory. I worked with Koh to make something believable, interesting, and original that fit the bill well for the setting as well as the vibe and ultimate goal we set.
We were trying our best to try and cut down the perception that we were some kind of Arabian terrorist group with a shallow sense of direction besides violence, so I ended up deciding that the time scale was accurate to when the Soviets occupied Afghanistan, and used the communist nature of the conflict to show how we're essentially aristocracy that feared the prosecution of the Soviets. I will admit that I did take a minor bit of inspiration from MGSV, though. Where the fuck is Quiet?
Ironically, the Arabic group seems to be the most diverse of it's kind- a Japanese-American woman, a Slavic-Hungarian Veteran, and a few others other than Arabics. I look forward to seeing this faction grow into something to be truly proud of.
