Why should you be unPK'd?: I lost my character in a 5 second period over something that didn't hold any RP value. I watched an officer fight off two punching minges and was walking down the street behind him at a distance after he had killed them. I was flipping through my hands and keys and unintentionally equipped my gun that had been given to me recently. (Why does the selected item turn gray instead of white?) The cop turned around and saw me with it, and basing off of the fact my character was a felon and shouldn't have had the weapon, I tried to shoot him. This wasn't my plan originally, and I was in third person so I missed every shot and got quickly killed. Around 40 minutes later when I was talking with some of my fellow faction members I got sent back to the character select screen.
I don't really see why the cop would want me PKed, but obviously he filled out the form for it. There wasn't any malice between us from what I could tell, and my character was killed partly because of an OOC slip-up. In the real world, I'd argue its not very easy to accidentally pull your Mauser out of your coat pocket when putting up your keys. While I fulfilled the rule's criteria to be killed, my mistake was from inexperience as a player rather than because of choices I intended to make in character.
