I dont understand how you see it as cringe but during these times (around 1985) the USSR was in its prime, and so was the KGB, however, people were constantly leaving the KGB and moving to the United States to start a mob, or brotherhoods with some cool people (that is a little watered down but thats the general idea). Not only was the USSR in its prime so were Russian Mobs and Bratvas in the United States. And I do understand that it isn't former KGB shit but that is to explain the general idea of how our actions would be affected by the roleplaying community and how it explains the closeness of the people in the Bratvas and why outsiders aren't so easily accepted into the communities. This also explains our interactions with police as (essentially) former Russian police we believe that each group lives by the same ideals (obviously that is not true but we didn't know that). It also provides RP reasons to be weary of spies and RP reasons to want to expand our reach. Also, that little last portion "Anyone who may stand in our way will receive a good lesson and maybe, from our Ukrainian friends, a nice little necktie." Was taken by the Ukrainians from the Colombians and thus into Russian mobs.
