Derek “Vyusher” Bennett (Adler#7811)
~~ The Bennett Family ~~
Introduction
The setting is in the town of Birmingham, the year is 1968. At the young age of 18, Derek Bennett had to learn how to survive on his own. He grew up in Balsall Heath, an impoverished neighborhood in Birmingham. Life was not easy, as his father served in World War II, fighting the Germans in the name of the Great Queen. He retained multiple life ending internal wounds and died a few years after the war. His mother, a hard working housewife, passed away due to severe Influenza in the year of 1955.
Chapter One
Derek knew the streets of Balsall Heath, he gathered a crew and started selling stolen cigars and whiskey to put food on the table. Though they were all young, they had high hopes for the future. The years went on, the Bennett Gang grew over time and expanded into other Birmingham neighborhoods. The rise in criminal activity would gain the attention of the local coppers. The law would come down on the Bennett Gang, beating and imprisoning most of the affiliated members. Derek and his childhood friend James Rick would come to a decision, a decision that would decide the fate of the Bennett’s for years to come.
Chapter Two
The setting is still Birmingham, the year being 1975. Derek and James had a loyal crew of gunmen, bookmakers, and sloggers at their disposal, but had lost most of their territory and influence due to the coppers, and the French, coming down on their members and businesses.
They continued business as usual, trying to make ends meet for the family. Two years had gone by, the family money was declining and the Bennett name no longer carried weight in the streets of Birmingham, Derek was down to seven loyal members upholding the family name. James oversaw the Bennett Pub, the pub being the only income left for the crew.
On a cold, dark morning, a group of wiseguys walk into the pub. They’re muttering phrases in French, James and his boys tense up and prepare for the worst. One of the men steps forward and says in a thick French accent, “Quite the shithole, you call this a pub?” James would respond, “Coming from who?” The man would reply smugly, “Monsieur Venturi, best mind your manners.” James would look to his left, then his right, and would snap his fingers. His crew would catch the signal, and pull their guns. The wiseguys would raise their hands, “Fatal mistake, vous cochons,” they would yell as they slowly walked out the pub.
Chapter Three
The year is 1980. Derek was asleep in his apartment after a long day, when all of a sudden James bursts through the door yelling, “The French! They killed some of our guys and burned down our pub!” Derek jumped awake, slightly confused. “What the fuck… those fuckin bastards..” Derek would mutter. “That was all we had left, there’s nothing left for us in this damned town. There’s a cargo ship headed to New York leaving this afternoon, maybe a fresh start is what we need Derek,” James would say, trying to figure out a solution to the situation. Derek would reply,“New York… a fresh start.. you’re on to something James. Gather what we have left, all the men and the money as well. We’re off to New York!”
The ship would arrive and the Bennett’s quickly got a motel room. They now reside in the city of New York, trying to get their family off the ground.
Chapter Four
It’s been some time, Derek and his crew were making a name for themselves in the city. The cash was stacking to the ceiling, and so was Derek’s contacts. Some big players in the city were catching wind of the Bennett’s actions, some would say they appeared out of thin air. This all ties in to the Zamfir Family, an aspiring group of Romanian nationals trying to make it in the city. Derek’s underboss, Rio “Dead Man” Bennett, arranged a sitdown between “Smiley”, the Personal Advisor to the Don of the Zamfir Family, and this sitdown would come to a quick conclusion. The two families couldn’t come to terms on an alliance, so they parted ways. The Bennett Family now resides on their own, still relying on their Columbian and Japanese connections to make money. The rest is history!
THE END! (TO BE CONTINUED)
To all of those who are mass-dropping -1s on this app, I faked my death via UA approval and retained ALL knowledge from my "past lives."
Therefore, there was NO METAGAME coming from me involved in this situation. To make this clear, I have had my name changed, a full on fake PK event message, and paid for plastic surgery. Making the PK reason: "If they have left the gang/family without approval from the leader they may be subject to a PK" invalid due to meta rules. Also, if you aren't directly involved in the situation, you don't know enough to -1 on a factual basis.
