Add a rule requiring members of an applying faction to disclose their membership when they +1. It's hard to tell who has genuine opinions and who is just biased. +1s from faction members can still have genuine praise, but it'd also be nice to know who is actually supporting the faction, and who is just doing it because their HC said so.

Although +1/-1s are there for the community to provide their personal views, opinions and inputs regarding new faction applications, the final decision to accept or deny ultimately lies with Management. Since all forum accounts are linked to a steam account, they can easily check who belongs to which faction.

When it comes to the applicant taking in those opinions, it's up to them to filter through the genuine feedback and the biased comments made by others. Forcing people to reveal which factions their characters belong to takes away the freedom of providing opinions and having those opinions considered, if at all in the first place.

Ok, then ban promoting faction apps, it would have the same effect.

Promoting a faction app doesn't automatically increase the number of +1s. Users are still free to either totally ignore the promotion or read the app and choose for themselves whether or not it's worthy of a +1. All promoting does is increase visibility, which results in more community interaction, which is a good thing regardless of how they respond to the app.

How much power do you think thoughtless +1s have?

It's not like 5 pages of "+1 good guy good rp" is going to guarantee the admission of a terrible application.

I'll be completely honest +1 and -1's are usually overlooked unless a response has a constructed argument, and actually provides good reasoning for their support / opposition. We mainly look at the quality of the application, activity and community presence of its members / leader, previous ban/warn history, etc.

It wouldn't really be something we could enforce either.
