Organization Backstory (Min. of 250+ Words & any images):
Kwik Kash started as a humble northern English second-hand goods store for a generation, this was until young John took the reins after his father’s death. John had great ambitions but no way to fund them, so he turned to the shadier side of the business world and began making under-the-counter deals with less-than-savory individuals. With John’s cunning new business venture, he was able to gain some capital to franchise across the country setting up a ring of drug trafficking, arms dealing, and import chicanery. Good things weren’t going to last forever and after some ill-fated business dealing with the IRA, rifts started to form within the company. When things started to look like they were mellowing out John’s life got turned upside down after a fight with his business partner and brother led to John accidentally murdering his wife. John was usually a composed man but with his life crumbling around him he decided to uproot his whole life and move west to escape everything.
Now in Southside, New York City John decides to set up a similar business to what he had back in the UK, along with his new business partner Garry he was able to get a lease to open up and pawn shop in the old jewelry store in Southside where they were able to make great connections and start up their new business venture with the protection of some greater powers. This continued until they realized they had no idea how to run a business in the states let alone a drug trafficking ring. They both agreed they were totally out of their depth and decided to go legal and truly work Kwik Kash as intended, an honest-to-God “Cash for your crap” business. This went well and they even started selling very lucrative Hawaiian shirts to the people of Southside. They always struggle to employ people into such a specific business which required a lot of training, but they eventually got into the swing of it buying selling, and trading rarities, oddities, and luxuries to the people of Southside. This continued for a while until both Garry and John both started to feel the strain on their business due to external personal matters which started seeing them not open as often, relying on their employees more, and eventually hiring a new boss to run the business in their stead. This started great but ended up running down the Kwik Kash coffers and eventually lead to the dissolution of the business.
Since the collapse of Kwik Kash, John, and Garry have been still helping people buy and sell the very same oddities they used to but just as an enjoy of the hobby but not professionally. When John walks the streets, people recognize him in his old uniform and often ask if they’d ever open again, John always said no because he enjoyed his retirement, but retirement got boring and the salesman in John started to itch and needed a way to express it. So here we are today ready to reopen and give the city a place to buy, sell and trade anything they want, but this time John knows that you need to break a few eggs to make a cake, and some less-than-legal practices must take place if we want to survive in the city. With help from some new members of staff, Kwik Kash is ready for a revival.
