Ive seen car chopping on other servers n think it would make a good addition to diverge. It would bring meaning to having car alarms and trackers, n would obviously bring in more civ rp. The ones Ive seen didnt give too much money for doing it, but it adds more potential for criminal player interaction without it being a mugging or shootout. You would equip a tool n use it on an unlocked car n it would take like twice as long as a lockpick n make a bunch of banging noise.

+1, this would give lockpicks alot more use as right now they can only really be used in maybe 3 locations, and with the updated server quality allowing for cars more often, this would add a really fun layer of civilian RP. However, I'd suggest scrapping a tool you can buy for chopping up cars and just using the chronically unused Far Warehouse property as where you take stolen vehicles to chop them up for a cash reward that scales on the vehicle's value at the dealer.

Everytime this is suggested i challenge the persons to make it exploit proof.

how will this prevent people from chopping their friends car, who will then spawn another to repeat and abuse the process?

'make it so they pay a penalty or lose access to their chopped car'

This would be punishing the victim too severely and encourage people to steal and chop chars of rivals on alts to avoid consequences.


A good system has yet to be invented in these suggestions for car chopping.
