So, where do I begin to start regarding this?
As you may or may not know me as a member of this community, you might have heard of me under various names. Roric Whent. Kage. Sara Barzini-Carmelo. Etc. Etc. I've been a relatively active and pretty prominent figure in this community over the last year or so, and I'd like to imagine I'm not a bad guy, or a guy that really looks to step on people's toes and overall ruin their time and or the experience on the server. I try to advocate for their good experience, help people when I can, be there for people and hear their problems out overall. Now, I'm here to talk about some issues.
Being honest? My faction got investigated by the FBI. Sure. It happens. It happens to everyone at some point or another, I'm sure. However, the manner in these investigations bother me to various degrees.
There have been a total of around five? Six search warrants on the properties of my faction, and generally speaking, each time, there's been no yielded results. All signed by the same judge, or the alt of the person who owns said judge. However, as a good number of you may or may not know? According to the admins on the server, having a ghost character, a federal judge at that is considered acceptable. In other words, a character that doesn't provide roleplay to the server, doesn't have any consequences to a player for their actions, and can essentially sign warrants with impunity, because as I mentioned, they don't actually exist on the server in any capacity. They as far as I am concerned exist only to sign warrants for FBI.
I've recently had my bank searched, and with it, everything inside of it was taken, despite the warrant clearly stating it was a search warrant. There were no illegal items, but everything was taken anyways. When asked why, they said "probable cause". Under the idea that I am associated with mass weapon stockpiling, possession of explosives, the mass production and distribution of drugs, and so forth. No items of that sort were found in my bank. Nor the bank of many other people at that based on what I heard. I don't apply to weapon stockpiling, not with the law as written anywho. What else, the items weren't even taken by a police officer, and or agent of the FBI. They were taken by an attorney, and according to staff, attorneys are apparently officers of the law. Enforcers of it that do have the right to go into your bank and seize objects to use to prosecute you in the court of law. Essentially, Attorneys are equivalent to FBI, and are incredibly powerful.
They did this to eighteen people, and a total of twenty-two accounts. People might say, "Oh, this is totally fine, and I support it." However, to those that do, I want them to consider that perhaps the reason why they say that this is fine is because it isn't happening to them. I'm certain that if anyone was in the situation that I was, and mind you, [you can], that you'd likely not be saying the same thing. You might think of this as a complaining rant, maybe bitching about something that I think is unfair? You're right. I don't particularly like it. I don't think it's fair, or logical, or otherwise. But that isn't the main reason why I'm writing this. The reason why I am writing this is to let you know.

A lot of you probably don't care. Frankly, in all my time in Mafia RP, this is possibly the biggest and most disturbing thing I've ever come across. Frankly, I don't imagine a lot of staff care either. Frankly, considering it seems as if there is a decent amount of determination to take down my faction, one that I've spent months to make and grow, one that I've spent a lot of time cultivating and growing alongside of our Mafia RP community, I guess what kind of hurts the most is the idea that it probably doesn't matter. I'll just be another faction come and gone.
As for the staff that do care however, and think this isn't right? I'd like for you to do something for me. Write clear guidelines that let everyone know about the prospective idea of allowing ghost characters. Write clear guidelines on a lot of things that can and can't be exploited, and let me let the staff know in this point of time. It's things like this that make a lot of people question if the staff legitimately care. I won't say if the staff are biased or not, because we know 100% across the entirety of the server that it exists. At least those that have been here long enough. When I say care, I mean care about the overall community.
Please, anyone that's reading this. Toss in your opinions. Your +1's, your -1's, whatever the case. I personally think that it's a horrible thing, for something kind of silly like this to happen. After a bit, of hearing what people have to say, I'll post my followup.
