Organization Backstory (Min. of 250+ Words & any images):
1953, the year everything began. Amelia Alistair - a young, catholic working woman just trying to get by in the recently declared post-war Britain, birthed two twins, unexpectedly - “Theo Alistair” and “Reginald Alistair” her expectations? She would have two, normal sons who did as she did and just got by in their day-to-day life. The first years of their life were what some would call ‘normal’ and rather ‘uneventful’ however, little did they know…..everything was soon to change.
By the age of 15; Reginald and Theo were known to the “bobbies” - a slang word used for police officers, whilst most of their crimes were minor, it was arguably the pathway they needed to follow to meet what some would describe as their destiny. Their school teachers were certain these kids were going nowhere, Theo was one what would call “unmanageable” often being removed from his education for fighting, selling drugs to other students, and possession of weapons on school property, hence why they were known to these “bobbies.”
October, 1970. Theo, Reginald and their close friends were celebrating their birthday in the manner any 17 year old at the time would - with a distasteful, alcohol slathered, drug infused party. Things were going well...for the most part, but little did the brothers know, their gate to a life of violent, organized crime was about to begin. Now, I probably forgot to mention, Theo and Reginald had some rivals, one of them being a group of youth, the same age as Theo and Reginald, lead by some delinquent Thommy brave or something, a scottish fella. Mr. Brave, the young scott decided it would be in their best interest to try and crash Theo and Reginald’s celebration - oh was he so wrong to do so. At 10:00 PM on the dot, Brave and his boys pulled up to the Alistair's residence and an almost instant confrontation began. Theo, being the connoisseur of...well, “sleazy” alcohol, was at the bar preparing himself a drink - vodka, more than likely. Hearing the confrontation, Theo marched over to the group of people fighting and immediately involved himself with, as they called them; “gronks.” The fighting continued for a few minutes before Brave decided to run, in his best interest.
Theo explained to Reginald what had happened with Brave and his crew, and it infuriated him. Standing up, grabbing the fire-poker from the fireplace, whilst Theo took a kitchen knife and off they went in an attempt to find Mr. Brave. You’re probably wondering why this part of the story is so long, well, it’s where everything changed. That’s why. Finally, after a while, Reginald and Theo caught Brave in the alleyway behind a butchers, to put it simply - they had no intention to do so, yet through a fit of rage - Theo and Reginald murdered him and left his body there.
A few days later, as expected, Reginald and Theo (aged 18 now) were arrested and sentenced to 5 years in prison, each, a lucky number actually - surprising to most that they didn’t go down for life. They knew they were careless, and they understood that this was the last of their unorganized assaults, and foolish acts of unplanned attempts to gain pride. Now, you must consider, not all bad things came out of their “prison visit” during their time, they met Stanley Harris, a young man who was arrested for armed robbery and selling illegal firearms. Over their 5 years behind bars, the growth of their group began, and so did their British crime empire's creation. 1975; Theo, Reginald and now their closest associate Stanley Harris were released. The Alistair twins didn’t use their sentence as a period of depression, they used it as a way to strategize and plan their every move in their foreseen attempt to rise to power. They knew the risks, but the golden tinted rewards that came with it was much too great.
And so it began. The Alistair's empire was slowly being created, with the twins sitting right at the top. Within the coming years, Theo and Reginald hired 100’s of people to run their newly found rackets. Bars, clubs, casinos, Jewelry stores and even stock offices fell under Alistair's grasp. Their financial rule began, Reginald and Theo ruled London and most of England with a reinforced grasp. It wasn’t long before everyone realised that Reginald and Theo weren’t just simple businessmen, or property owners, everyone knew who they really were.
Theo wore his title proud, gangsters, whilst that’s what they were - Reginald was never keen on being publicly known as a gangster, although he loved the power that came with it. Everyone feared the Alistairs, and they feared those who were associated with them too, like Stanley Harris. Remember him? Yeah, the gentleman they met during their time in prison. Well, he became one of the most respected members of the organization, whilst not being one of the Alistair’s family, he helped in running their rackets - almost like a military captain, a leading officer that all of those below reported directly to. Stanley was known for carrying a switchblade, a silver one engraved with his initials, and soon he obtained the nickname “the knife” by Reginald.
Years passed by, the Alistair empire only grew day-by-day. They dominated London, and controlled it - kept it on a tight leash, held in each of their hands. But like most things within the Alistair's life, change was about to occur, after speaking with their financial managers, they saw another glowing jewel, something they hadn’t claimed yet but was just within their grasp. America, southside to be exact. After a few more months of planning, ensuring that their business wouldn’t collapse in their absence they employed more trusted members to ensure that the businesses don’t fall apart, and that their fraudulent schemes were cemented.
So it was settled, the Alistair twins, along with a few of Reginald's trusted security guards, and Stanley Harris, began their journey to America. Southside, their new place of business. Already having recruited a few people in need of work - their opportunities are limitless.
