Reason for PK: Shootout with the police

Why should you be unPK'd?: I think i should be unPK'd as i believe the cops involved in the shooting were involved in metagaming. Prior to the shootout i have kidnaped the cop and taken everything from his inventory including his radio (which can be seen in the first clip) after that i brang him on the 10th floor of world corp where he asked me if wanted to know what the other officers were saying on the radio (even tho i took his radio) and that they knew we were at world corp and were on their way (at this moment i believe he was communicating with someone outside of rp. After that i proceeded to blind him to not recognize my face and left him tied up and blindfolded on the 10th floor with no radio and means to communicate with other officers(this can bee seen in the second clip). I took the elevator down and met a probie who had his pistol out searching for something which i believe it was me and the other officer. Now this person couldnt have known the officer had been taken hostige at world corp unless he had been told OOCly as the person i kidnaped didnt have a radio and also was tied up (this can be seen in the third clip). After this i have seen them together on patrol somehow as the kidnaped officer shouldeve been on the 10th floor tied up and than the probie and the officer (which was blind and couldnt see) proceeded to run towords ,out of all the people that were around, me from Eastwatch towords the gun store and than the probie asked me if i was the one that kidnaped his friend and asked why i was at world corp saying thats where the kidnaping happened (even tho he couldnteve known as the officer couldnt have radioed he was getting kidnaped at that location). Than the officer proceeded to scream "Right here kidnaped me" than the probie pulled out his service pistol than his tazer which was followed by the gunfight in which anauther civilian was helping the cops for some reason.

In conclusion i belive this whole situation wouldnt have happened if the 2 officers META-GAMED and would have not communicated over discord or any OOC ways as none of them could have talked with eachother in RP or know each others locations

Hey IZO,

As you know, I was the staff member that PK'd you. After reading your appeal and reviewing your submitted evidence, and without ruling out all possibilities, I would be inclined to believe there could be some potential meta-game involved leading to the outcome of the situation. Its difficult to conclusively prove this, as your evidence doesn't show the tied cop leaving the building, and untie logs aren't stored for me to check if the other cop freed him.

I additionally want to note, you didn't raise any of this during the PK sit, and I definately would have investigated further with the cops if you did so.

As per the Police identifiying you, they were able to do this through remembering your voice. I checked this with the server logs to ensure this was within rules and it was, see rule below:
-If someone has committed an offense against you (Act of violence, mugging, etc) you may recognize them based on their voice and clothing for up to 20 minutes afterwards.

Although the second clip shows the other officer exiting the world corp building, there is no evidence of him actually rescuing the tied-up officer or trying to arrest you for the kidnapping through use of out of character systems. Without more information, we cannot reasonably determine the cause or purpose of that officer visiting the world corp building.


I should also mention that kidnappings need to have a roleplay justified reason and cannot happen out of no where, or for the fun of it, especially if it is against a law enforcement officer (see mugging rules 10).

I also concur with the statement made above by Oman. Even though you changed clothes and clearly evaded the other officer in the second clip, law enforcement are still able to identify you by your voice.

As for the actual PK, it would not have happened if you hadn't pulled out your pistol and initiated the violent confrontation with the police. The officer in the clip first pulled their weapon out to de-escalate the situation with the random citizen interfering, but then changed back to their tazer shortly after before attempting to lawfully arrest you.

In the end, I find that there is insufficient evidence to establish that metagaming did occur, and that your PK was justified.
