Organization Backstory (Min. of 250+ Words & any images): The homeless of NYC have had their fair share of rough and tumble suffering under the oppressive hands of both the government, as well as the local criminal organizations. In any case, their misery has led them to banding together out of sheer desperation to win back their city. The homeless consist of fishermen, weed growers, and otherwise poor ruffians who are prepared to ensure their survival at all costs. Even if it means taking on the world! Hobo Mafia!
The dictionary defines the word ‘hobo’ as “one who wonders from place to place without a permanent home or a means of livelihood.” Historically, many people have been forced into becoming hobos or people who traveled around, because of jobs being scarce. They had no choice but to travel from place to place in search of work to survive. Hobos are often associated with train hopping, because that’s what many did during The Great Depression.
Almost from the beginning of the existence of hobos, as early as the 1870s, it was reported that they communicated with each other by way of a system of cryptic "hobo signs", which would be chalked in prominent or relevant places to clandestinely alert future hoboes about important local information. Many listings of these symbols have been made.
(Extra details)
Homelessness – also known as a state of being unhoused or unsheltered – is the condition of lacking stable, safe, and functional housing.
Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted December 10th, in 1948 by the UN General Assembly, contains this text regarding housing and quality of living:
The Ratmen will defend their rights.
