I think to make it less op if a certain amount of people interact with an object only the newest prints would show or after a certain amount of time the prints will fade

IRL fingerprints can last up: 40+ years on paper, 2.5+ years on metal, 7+ years on plastic and 10+ years on other surfaces so maybe not the fading away part.

And if multiple people are going to use the same item, it seems strategically sound to wash it with water every now and then.
