This exact system pretty much existed for a while; there are a few NPCs located around the city which would let you buy food and drink in bulk, and players would store it in their property to sell to customers. However a lot of people complained about it, so we made a compromise and allowed vendors with a limit of 10 items. So it's still possible, but players aren't forced to do it.
