There's little I can say here that hasn't been said already, but I can say that an ATF, regardless of the existence and overabundance of other federal law enforcement agencies, would server virtually zero purpose as there are very little restrictions on the sale and distribution of firearms across the board, and acquiring a license is ridiculously easy. Unless the laws regarding firearms changed to require such an enforcement beyond what the NYPD and FBI were capable of, no ATF will be needed.
