The Medellín Cartel was founded in Medellin, Antioquia, Colombia in 1976. It has expanded operations across South

and Central America, including the United States in cities such as Los Angeles and Miami.

Its main leaders are

Pablo Escobar, Gustavo Gaviria, Carlos Lehder, Gonzalo Rodriguez gacha and the Fabio brothers,

Juan David and Jorge Luis Ochoa. None of these men will be seen in New York City.

Carlos Lehder set a good example of flying cocaine into Miami and forming his system of distribution by force.

Today January 24th 1985 the duo of Jose Salazar and Manuel Antonio were sent by Pablo Escobar to fly cocaine into
